Hello,

Inspiration
Ashanti people of Ghana

A similar yet not a duplicate of the Ashanti clothing. I let my creativity go with the colors of the Ashanti flag (specially yellow and green ) and the colors on different photo's I could see, these not just of women but also men. Of the colors I saw, the brown and different shades of orange colors caught my eye. Also not to be left out, the beautiful gold accessories that are often used as adornment.

To get this look I mixed Purple Moon's  Sunshine in Green & Brown with  Sunshine in Yellow and Sienna. I used an Overt scarf and textured it with a texture I got from KKD african rugs plus I give it some yellow color for it to mix with the dress. This I did to give the look some influences of Kente cloth. Kente cloth is the best-known African textile and one of the most admired fabrics in the world. It was originally worn only by the royal family and high-ranking people in Ashanti society.
I also used the texture/color change Badu turban from the 2011 summer collection of Lelutka, which also has an amazing texture and has some similarities with Kente cloth. For a change of color I choosed the orange like color.
To give it more edge and fierceness I added the feathers of Venetian masquerade mast The raven of Avid clothing, to which I also added some yellow color and has a wonderfull gentle movement as I walk. In front of the feathers you can see part of the Queen of hearts Crown piece from the red outfit Queen of hearts of Purple Moon. I edited this part so it can fit perfectly with the feathers and give it a yellow shade.
For accessories I used the Chop Zuey bracelets Death by Rickshaw and NY girl Nolita Nights by Chop Zueyand the Anemona Ivory necklace from Kunglers who has a beautifully green and gold color. Last but not least I am
wearing sandals of Finesmith Designs, Sahara Natural.

Akyire,  see you later

Sneak peak Essence of Ebony contest

Hello all,

So I am one of the 24  contestants of miss Essence of Ebony and I am excited for the show today at 1pm SLT. I have been working hard on my look and I am so looking forward to meet all the other girls on this day. And of course I got some sneak peak ;)
We needed to create a look based on the choosen country. I am proudly doing Ghana :). I liked it so much that I even created another look and I will show this. The first look I am not going to show because that is what I am going to wear for the contest. So if you would like to come see 24 beautifull ladies representing their choosing country don't hesitate to come, its going to be amazing!

Sneak peak stage:

And....a picture of my second outfit inspired by the flag of Ghana:

'God bless our homeland Ghana,
And make our nation great and strong,
Bold to defend for ever
The cause of Freedom and of Right'

I am wearing a mix of gowns inspired by The flag of Ghana.

The flag was adopted after Ghana gained independence from the British and hence the use of the color red in the flag signifies the blood of the martyrs in the freedom struggle. Gold denotes the mineral wealth of the country and green is the symbol for its rich natural vegetation. The black star is said to symbolize the lodestar that was used in the freedom struggle.
To bring out these colors with a powerful meaning to all the people of Ghana I choosed to wear the amazing Serafina gown of Purple Moon. To get this color mix, I am wearing from top to toe; Serafine in ruby, gold and emerald. To resemble to Black star on the flag I have a hair adornment of Purple Moons Edelweiss in black, a gown specially desgned as the National Gown for Miss Germany, Leandra Breen. This represent the lodestar, a relatively bright, easily found star that is used to find direction. To lead the way to inspiration and the right path. Accesories used are Finesmith Amor’ e necklace, earings and bracelets. Je suis nails and Aleida's Malene pumps in mustard.

Thanks for reading and here is your  limo to go see this interesting show, Essence of Ebony! You are cordially invited :)

See you there ;)

❣ Never Lose Hope ❣

Hello,
I couldn't attend 105 after all due to rl appointments, but I have been focus on styling myself and taking pictures. I love it!
And for the next graduation I am going to be on vacation but I am bringing my laptop. Also because I live in Europe right now it is hard to keep up with the time differences sometimes, but I am going back home which is located in the Caribbean, so it's going to be much easier to keep up..woohoo.

I was a bit sad after I couldn't be there for the 105 classes so I went relaxing to put my thoughts on check. Why would I be sad if I feel like I've already made progress. Even if it is not good enough yet, I am working on it. I am also trying to be part of some contests. I find contests to be very educative and you can even meet new friends. I am looking forward to getting alot of feedback and become better!

Here's some pics I took when I went relaxing. Hope you like it!

I am wearing AGNES FINNEY ANGEL OF HOPE dress. The name says it all. Never lose hope!

♡ Modeling and styling ♡

Hello :)

My name is SL is SueGeeli Decuir. I have been a member since 2007.

Things I am usually doing in sl is styling, shopping, hearing music, dj sometimes, dancing, taking pictures and exploring. I also like to go to fashions shows and live music events. I gotta say this world is so addictive..lol But I love it.

I am kind of a lonewolf and I think it's time to try to change that. In February I decided to join a model academy called Miss Virtual World Academy. I have been pretty busy in rl too so I don't think I have shown what is in me yet and of course, I still need a lot to learn and experiences to make. I started to take the classes and god knows how nervous I was every time..lol But I went to class 101, 102, 103 and 104..and then 105 came! With Mister Frolic Mills. I don't think I did so good in that class considering how tired I and how late it was. I spend so many hours stressing about what to wear that I kind of lost the focus of being myself and enjoy it. That would be a good advice if I may give: Relax and enjoy.

The 105 classes have a duration of 3 days, usually on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday and Saturday classes will be given by the one and only Frolic Mills and Sunday is basically the graduation walk. That walk will be your judgment. You have to be perfectly styled from head to toe and you have to be able to be fierce on the runway with awesome poses. Me, I didn't made it :(..but :) I had so much fun when I was on the runway. It was the happiest I have ever been in sl since I joined. I was stressing so much the whole weekend if I was good enough or not. But when I was walking on the runway I realized, of course, I am good enough. I might not be good enough yet but I will be because I love doing it.

So I am still not graduated from MVW Academy which it's a good thing because I don't think I am 100% ready to be called a graduate. Right now I am enjoying styling and trying to improve myself. I even start blogging. Taking it one day at a time and having fun.
I gotta say thanks to all the wonderful people who help us at the MVW Academy especially to miss Kay Fairy who has been a great help in my development and has give me awesome tips. They are all so nice.

Anyways I hope you guys made it here, sorry for the long story. Now to get to the point. Starting today I am doing 105 again. I just found out if you don't make it you can also redo 104 and of course 105 too to get more feedback for the graduation walk. That is a treat so don't see it as a failure now.

The exercise for today's classes is to come as the model you are/want to be. We have to come dressed in a way thadescribesbe you. Kind of making a statement of who you are. And after much thinking and changing I decided that the outfit I am going to wear looks as follows:

Styling
Dress: Lelutka
Shoes: Peqe
Jewelry: Finesmith Desgins
Hair: Lamb
Eyes and Skin: Amacci
Nails: Je Suis

Why I choosed this dress?

First of all I gotta admit that I usually don't wear these colors combined. But that's the idea of it. I am somebody who always try new things and is open to learn from it even if it might have been a mistake.

Also the meaning of the colors:
Yellow (dress, hat, accesories, earings) : 'People who are blind to other colors can usually see yellow. Yellow is full of creative and intellectual energy. Yellow symbolizes wisdom. Yellow means joy and happiness. People of high intellect favor yellow. '

Red (Shoes, hat, earings) : 'Red is the color of blood, and as such has strong symbolism as life and vitality. It brings focus to the essence of life and living with emphasis on survival. Red is also the color of passion and lust. '

All this info I got from http://crystal-cure.com/

I won't go for just a white or black outfit this time, I want to go with these colors who besides also matching my skin tone have a powerfull meaning.

I am elegant but at the right situations I can be tough, casual and sexy too. I love gowns but I went for a short dress because it is a class after all. For me this'outfit is still elegant but with an edge to it. And that is the type of model I want to be.
The layers of the dress represents the rocks/stones you need to make a strong foundation. Without a foundation a building colapses even after you spend alot of time building it.

And the hat I choose because I always have something on my mind. Sometimes I feel like my head is so full of ideas I don't even know how or where to start making them into actions. And so far I never really had success in making them into actions and fulfilled reality. That's why the 'sticks' on the hat. I love what this designer did. With this I wanted it to symbolize how I want the many ideas in my head to come out in the right order out of my head and have the change to break free of the cage, who is my head..lol, and become actions.

So who am I and what kind of model I want to be?

I am yet in construction but I am trying to make a strong foundation. Creative, strong, passionate and intelligent. Striving for happiness, more wisdom and become more outgoing. To model I want to be is a model who is elegant with an edge. A model with the right attitude, who treats others with respect and who enjoys her work. A model who shares, always try to improve herself, try new things and helps others. That's how I would like to be :)

A look back to what I wore for the first try:

Which one you think is better? Do you see an improvement? :)

Thanks for reading and hope you all have a wonderfull weekend.

Love,
♡ SueGeeli DeCuir ♡
